Role model : John Lennon

 

I have thought that I’m a dreamer since I knew the word first. I don’t know why but when I find it while I listen to music, I feel comfortable and happy as there are many lives like mine as well. The most impressive ‘dreamer’ that I’d heard of was ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon.

 

Before that time, I was around 25, I’d just known that song with only title and the meaning as the antiwar symbol. Instead, I loved his romantic songs like ‘Woman’ rather than this. (Actually I preferred Paul’s ‘silly’ love songs.) But as soon as I found the words in this song, I started to be attracted to his life and thinking.

 

He was a genius songwriter as people know. He showed us that even a weak person can say anything he wants against every strong power. Without any weapons and physical contacts, this song covered all around the world. I think he was the most influential artist ever. .

 

In addition, I deeply feel sympathy with his dream, which is ‘happy’ itself. And through his decision of life, he proved his own ‘happy’ condition. We can make sure of it by his lyrics, interviews, illustrations and M/V with his woman.

 

After his awful death, his existence in the history of pop music might have been respected more than ever. We must not forget that he always dreamt of a real ‘happy’ world, practiced it with his talent and followed what he sincerely believed. Sometimes it seems to give some missions to me, being still a tame dreamer.
